RSU’s Career, Internship and Graduate School Fair returns this April, offering RSU students the chance to network with potential employers, learn about internships, and explore graduate programs.
Slated for Wednesday, April 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the ballroom of the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center, this event is geared towards helping soon-to-graduate university students get a head start on their career and ongoing education prospects.
According to RSU Career Services Coordinator Payton Lahmeyer, this event hosts various businesses, industries and companies from across the region and from out of state with potential job opportunities for RSU students.
“We’ll have a number of organizations – business, government agencies, non-profit groups, branches of the military and more – on hand that day to meet with and talk to the students about potential career paths – and maybe even hire them on the spot, or upon the student’s graduation,” Lahmeyer said. “This is a great opportunity for the students to network with the various businesses, to learn more about the job market, and connect with prospective employers.”
Additionally, there will be representatives from mental health organizations, hospitals, medical schools, law schools, universities and several Native American tribes present, many of whom will be seeking interns, part- and/or full-time workers, as well as candidates for internships or graduate programs.
Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes to share with potential employers and should wear professional or business casual attire.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., free professional headshot photos will be taken on site for use on LinkedIn or other social media accounts. The photo booth will be located in the hallway between the DCTC rotunda and the ballroom.
Event attendees may check in at the Student Affairs table to receive a ticket for a chance to win one of several prizes to be given away at the event.
