Master of Science in Cybersecurity Policy, Governance & Training
Technology and Justices Studies Department Mission: Department Mission: The mission of the Department of Technology and Justice Studies is to support the SPS and RSU in their mission to prepare students to achieve professional and personal goals in dynamic local and global communities.
Degree Program Mission: The MS in Cybersecurity Policy, Governance, & Training will provide coursework and practical application in preparing learners to become information/cybersecurity professionals. This degree will additionally prepare learners to bridge the communication gap between IT security professionals and key business stakeholders while cultivating strategies, based on ethical principles, balancing organizational policies and government regulations to develop and implement necessary training programs to protect against and respond to internal and external threats.
Upon completion of this program of study, you will be proficient in:
- Analyzing and evaluating multiple risk assessment methods and strategies,
- Comparing and contrasting the legal and ethical aspects of cybersecurity at the federal, state, and international level,
- Utilizing current privacy law & data protection measures, devising a mitigation plan against both external and internal vulnerabilities to enterprise computer infrastructures and sensitive digital assets,
- Assessing and summarizing the legal and ethical requirements of a cybersecurity professional,
- Integrating project management skills to produce a cybersecurity solution,
- Evaluating the results of a security assessment to assess the security status of a network or computer system, &
- Developing and implementing training programs to protect against and respond to internal and external threats.
