RSU’s Office of Admissions is offering several opportunities for prospective students and members of their family to visit the Claremore campus and learn more about life on the Hill, many of these events highlighting a particular theme or area of study.
Slated for Friday, Feb. 7, Communications Day is an event that showcases the various opportunities available in communications, media and broadcasting.
At Communications Day, attendees will explore RSU’s state-of-the-art TV and radio stations where students gain practical experience in television production, radio hosting and media management. This event also gives prospective students the chance to meet with faculty, staff and current students from the communications degree program to learn how RSU can prepare them for a successful career in media. Interactive sessions, facility tours and information about hands-on projects and internships will be a part of this event.
Communications Day will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the Claremore campus. Registration is required, as space is limited.
The next scheduled visitation event will be Technology Day on the Hill.
Scheduled for Friday, Feb. 14, Technology Day on the Hill allows attendees to participate in four sessions tailored for students interested in learning more about the fast-growing realm of technology and justice studies.
Seminars will cover game development and artificial intelligence; drone flight safety and skills; cyber and information security; and basic criminal investigation. Attendees will also learn about degree plans, the admission process, scholarships, financial aid, residential life, and more.
This event will be 8 a.m. to 3 pm. In Herrington Hall. Space is limited. Registration is required.
On Saturday, March 1, Admitted Students Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center.
This event will allow students admitted to RSU to connect with other future Hillcats and get started on their journey to becoming college students.
Attendees can tour the campus or dorms, learn more about RSU’s academic programs and find their major, meet with financial aid to learn more about scholarships, register for a ROAR (RSU Orientation, Advising and Registration) Day, take part in fun activities, enjoy lunch and enter for the chance to win prizes.
This is a come and go event. To participate, students must be admitted to Rogers State University. As space is limited, registration is preferred.
Students interested in human culture, beliefs and history are encouraged to participate in Psychology and Sociology Day. Scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, March 7, in the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center, participants in this event will learn about RSU’s Psychology, Sociology and Environmental Studies degree plans and programs, the admissions process, scholarships and financial aid, residential life, and more. Limited space is available, so registration is required to attend this event.
On Tuesday, March 11, students interested in a degree in Elementary Education or Secondary Education will want to attend Future Educators Day. Students who attend this event will have the opportunity to speak to current students and faculty, learn about the university admissions process, observe an education class and tour the campus.
RSU and Cameron University have partnered for this event to provide helpful resources to students and to create an inviting community. The information covered includes available degree plans (elementary and secondary education), the admissions process, financial aid and scholarships, residential life, and more.
This event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center. Space is limited, so registration is required.
Hillcat Preview Day, scheduled for Saturday, April 5, is for all students interested in attending Rogers State University, including high school students, transfer students and adult learners.
Attendees receive a free t-shirt, get the chance to win an RSU scholarship, participate in a student organization browsing session, tour the campus and student housing, hear from current students and faculty members, learn about financial aid and scholarship opportunities, enjoy a free lunch, sign up for a personalized campus visit, and meet future Hillcat friends. Parents and family members are encouraged to attend.
ROAR (RSU Orientation Advising, and Registration) Day is a requirement for all incoming freshmen to take the next step to becoming a full-fledged Hillcat. Attendees must attend and be present for the entire duration of all sessions on their selected ROAR date.
Incoming students (for the fall 2025 semester) attending ROAR Day will get a free t-shirt, meet with an advisor and enroll in classes, learn about student resources, get tips on how to adapt to and thrive in college, check in with financial aid, check out student housing and dining information, chat with different departments and student organizations, get your RSU student ID made and connect with future Hillcat friends. Parents and family members are encouraged to also participate. Registration is required.
Numerous dates are available for ROAR Days, beginning April 12 and running through August. Students are encouraged to sign up now, so they can enroll in their classes earlier and secure their preferred schedule for the fall semester.
For those unable to visit campus on a weekday, recuring visitation events will be held monthly during Saturday Tours. Similar to full campus tours given during the week, Saturday Tours offer potential students the chance to tour the campus, learn about the university’s history, housing, buildings and the finer aspects of being a Hillcat. Tours are led by a student ambassador or admissions counselor.
Saturday Tours during the spring 2025 semester will be held Feb. 15 and March 15. These tours are free of charge, but registration is required.
