AI Experts Discuss Changing Role of Artificial Intelligence at ‘AI in Education and Workforce’ at RSU Nov. 7

Artificial intelligence experts from RSU were joined by an internationally renowned AI strategist this week to discuss the impact and changing role of AI in education and the workplace.

Entitled “AI in Education & Workforce: Preparing for a Changing Landscape,” the event was held Thursday, Nov. 7, in Herrington Hall and welcomed Dr. Lisa Palmer, researcher and founder and chief executive officer of “Dr. Lisa AI” to share her thoughts in an open discussion with other AI specialists and event attendees.

Discussion questions covered included the ethical usage of AI in an educational setting, preparing students for potential ethical dilemmas (involving AI), biases seen in relation to AI, potential risks for AI in education, and how to mitigate risks posed by AI, and more.

Panelists from RSU were Dr. Brian Andrews, Dr. Nitindra Chowdary Pavuluri, Abhilash Minukuri, Dr. Sara K. Moon-Seo, Dr. Jerrett D. Phillips, and Sai Tharuni Samineni.

Serving as moderator was Dr. Curtis Sparling, RSU Technology & Justice Studies department head.
