AA in Accounting

Department Mission: The mission of the Department of Business is to provide quality programs to support the School of Professional Studies’ mission to prepare students to achieve professional and personal goals in the dynamic local and global communities.

Degree Program Mission:  The Associate of Arts in Accounting is designed for those students who are interested in a career in accounting. The program provides the knowledge and skills for preparing students to gain immediate entry-level employment in accounting, to advance in other business-related careers, or to transfer to a four-year degree program.

Student Learning Outcomes:

  1. Identify and demonstrate the application of fundamental accounting principles and methods to financial and managerial accounting scenarios.
  2. Weigh alternative reporting practices in the context of scenarios presented in a specific area of accounting represented by an upper division accounting course.
  3. Identify, interpret, and relate macroeconomic and microeconomic principles in the context of business scenarios.

AA in Business Administration

Department Mission: The mission of the Department of Business is to provide quality programs to support the School of Professional Studies’ mission to prepare students to achieve professional and personal goals in the dynamic local and global communities.

Degree Program Mission: The Associate of Arts in Business Administration is intended to provide a foundation in the functional areas of business. Knowledge gained in this program is applicable in industry, service, retail, and government employment.

Student Learning Outcomes:

  1. Identify fundamental business management strategies and relate those strategies to practical scenarios.
  2. Identify fundamental business and marketing strategies and relate those to practical scenarios.
  3. Identify and demonstrate the application of fundamental accounting principles and methods to financial and managerial accounting scenarios.
  4. Recognize and demonstrate effective written and oral business communications.
  5. Identify, interpret, and relate macroeconomic and microeconomic principles in the context of business scenarios.
  6. Identify, interpret, and relate business statistics principles in the context of business scenarios.

BS in Business Administration

Department Mission: The mission of the Department of Business is to provide quality programs to support the School of Professional Studies’ mission to prepare students to achieve professional and personal goals in the dynamic local and global communities.

Degree Program Mission: The BSBA is designed to meet the continued demand for business administration majors who understand the function of business and can utilize those functions in an increasingly competitive and global economy.

Student Learning Outcomes:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to think critically, while using excellent business communication practices, to solve problems in management, accounting, and marketing.
  2. Utilize knowledge, skills, and abilities acquired through the BSBA program for career and educational advancement.

BS in Organizational Leadership

Department Mission: The mission of the Department of Business is to provide quality programs to support the School of Professional Studies’ mission to prepare students to achieve professional and personal goals in the dynamic local and global communities.

Degree Program Mission: The BS in Organizational Leadership prepares students for success in corporate, industrial, government, and non-profit careers. The curriculum was created to meet the needs of today’s businesses. Students build knowledge and skill sin areas such as organizational behavior, management, ethics, interpersonal skills, communication, and finance.

Student Learning Outcomes:

  1. Demonstrate critical thinking, while using excellent business communication practices.
  2. Demonstrate competency in theory and research regarding current aspects of organizational leadership.
  3. Apply knowledge acquired in the degree program for career advancement or graduate school placement.

BS in Sport Management

Department Mission: The mission of the Department of Business is to provide quality programs to support the School of Professional Studies’ mission to prepare students to achieve professional and personal goals in the dynamic local and global communities.

Degree Program Mission: The Sports Management degree is designed to assist students to meet their primary professional and personal goals, including graduating with sufficient competitive skills and knowledge to obtain meaningful employment and facilitate reasonable career advancement in the area of sport management.

  2. Weight alternative marketing strategies in sprot management scenarios.
  3. Demonstrate mastery of current knowledge, theory, and research in sport management.

MBA Master of Business Administration
