The flooring project at Rogers State University’s Stratton Taylor Library got underway earlier this week, with the arrival of the specialized equipment needed to move the bookshelves during the project.
“The carpet project started last weekend (July 13-14) and they’ve already made a surprising amount of progress,” said RSU Library Director Kaitlin Crotty. “At this rate, it’s possible that the project could be finished sooner than expected, but we’re still anticipating it will take two-and-a-half weeks to complete.”
The project involves the re-carpeting of the library’s instruction room and several other areas, for which 1,240 total square yards of carpeting was purchased. The library’s third floor will remain closed for the duration of the project.
This renovation was made possible by two anonymous donations to benefit the library made to the RSU Foundation.
Following the completion of the re-carpeting, Crotty said the library’s next project will be the replacement of furniture, much of which – like the carpeting – has been at the library since its 2004 opening.
