Rogers State University offers online classes and programs that are flexible for working mothers. These classes can be a game-changer for student parents. For RSU senior Kiersten Hines, it’s about more than the flexibility. A Broken Arrow native, she is majoring in communications with an emphasis in broadcasting and new media.
“Something I love about RSU is the community and how helpful the professors are, especially since I am a single parent,” she said. “It’s such a positive experience how open and honest everyone is. Dr. Evusa (Dr. Juliet Evusa, professor of communications) is always checking on me to make sure I’m okay as a mother and a student.”
Kiersten chose her major because she wants to become an advocate for women’s sports as an ESPN analyst, by promoting gender equality and empowering female athletes. Kiersten’s favorite things to do on campus include having coffee with friends and hanging out at the DCTC.
