The RSU Foundation’s RSU Bartlesville Scholarship Fundraising Breakfast returns to The Center in Bartlesville this summer.

Slated for Thursday, June 20, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. in The Center (formerly, the Bartlesville Community Center) at 300 SE Adams Boulevard, this event is a fundraiser in support of students attending Rogers State University in Bartlesville and those who have transferred from RSU Bartlesville to Claremore to continue their education.

“This is such an important event,” said RSU Senior Director of Development Tonni Harrald. “Our goal is to raise $25,000 at this year’s event. From last year’s proceeds, 14 students were awarded the Bartlesville Breakfast Restricted Scholarship.”

Sponsorships, advertisers and important contributors are critical to raising funds for the scholarship breakfasts and are a means by which area individuals, groups, companies or businesses can show their support for Rogers State University students.

“Our biggest source of revenue for scholarships are sponsorships, for which, we have several tiers available,” Harrald said. “We’re always so appreciative of our sponsors. They really make these fundraisers a success.”

Currently, 2024 Bartlesville Scholarship Breakfast sponsors include ConocoPhillips and Phillips 66 (President’s Circle sponsors); Ascension St. John/Jane Phillips Medical Center and Cherokee Nation Tribal Councilor Dora Smith Patzkowski (Hillcat Hero sponsors); and Gateway First Bank, PSO, Mark and Debbie Haskell, RCB Bank – Bartlesville, Cherokee Casino – Ramona, KWON – Bartlesville Radio, and Truity Credit Union (Red and Navy sponsors).

Early event program advertisers include Josh Compton, Dr. Richard Beck, Neal and Mitsuye Conover, Senator Julie Daniels, Ford and Vanessa Drummond, Rep. John B. Kane – Kane Cattle Company, Walmart Distribution Center #7015, and Arvest Bank.

Important contributors are Spencer and Laura Jensen, Kenny and Tonni Harrald, and Rep. Earl and Jane Sears.

“We’re honored to have two outstanding Board members from Bartlesville – Mike Wilt and Bill Beierschmitt – serving on the RSU Foundation Board,” Harrald said.

Students chosen to receive scholarships from the fundraising breakfasts are carefully selected from among those who have applied online for a Foundation-funded scholarship and who have completed their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

Scholarships, supported through events like the Bartlesville Fundraising Breakfast, help RSU students defray the costs and significantly reduce the out-of-pocket expense for their education.

Attendance at the breakfast is free, but donations are appreciated. All donations are tax deductible.

Catering will be provided by Melody’s Creative Cuisine of Bartlesville.

“As always, we’re profoundly thankful to our sponsors and for every dollar we receive for our Bartlesville students,” Harrald said. “These funds truly help make a difference in the lives of our students, giving them the chance that they might not otherwise have to pursue their dreams for a college education.”
