RSU Public TV Hosts Live Call-in Show “Oklahoma Legislative Update” Thursday

The Oklahoma Legislative session is in full swing and Rogers State University Public Television is working to bring important political news to viewers.

KRSC-TV is hosting a one-hour live call-in show, “Oklahoma Legislative Update,” at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 1.

Wayne Greene, Tulsa World editorial writer, will moderate the panel of legislators including Sen. Sean Burrage, Sen. Randy Brogdon, Rep. Tad Jones and Rep. Jeannie McDaniel.

“It’ll be an interesting evening. We have a good mix of legislators representing a wide range of opinions, and there are so many things to talk about that we’ll be pressed to get it all covered in one hour,” Greene said.

Greene is well-qualified to moderate the political panel. He joined the Tulsa World editorial board at the beginning of this year. Before moving to editorial, he worked as the World’s city editor for 13 years and prior to that spent four years at the World’s state capitol bureau.

The Oklahoma Legislative Update is the first program of its kind for RSU Public Television.

“We have received numerous requests from viewers who want to learn more about what is going on at the capitol and this show is a great way to bring legislators and constituents together on air,” said Dan Schiedel, general manager of RSU Public TV. “I hope viewers take this opportunity to ask questions of their government officials.”

The station, based on RSU’s Claremore campus, reaches about 1.2 million people within a 75-mile radius of the campus and is Oklahoma’s only full-powered television station operated by a public university.
