What is a research appointment, and do I need one?
Tried your own searches and encountered difficulty finding the number or types of sources you expected?
Just not sure where or how to begin your research?
Then it’s time to schedule a one-on-one research appointment with a librarian.
The RSU Librarians are happy help you discover how to get started on your research, how to take a topic and narrow your search focus, and help you get on the right track for locating and identifying the best sources for a given topic.
Most appointments are approximately 30 minutes, with some appointments up to one hour depending on the complexity of the topic and assignment. Appointments are scheduled in advance to fit both student and librarian schedules, test preliminary searches, and maximize the productivity and success of your research appointment.
Participating Librarians
At least three days’ notice should be given for the librarian to prepare for the appointment. Impromptu research assistance might also be available without a written worksheet.
