The art of five faculty members from the Department of Fine Arts at Rogers State University will be exhibited from Oct. 9 to Jan. 3 at the Price Tower Arts Center in Bartlesville.
The annual RSU Faculty Art Exhibition will be held at the Price Tower for the second year in a row, said Gary Moeller, art professor and head of the RSU Department of Fine Arts.
The Price Tower Arts Center’s museum and galleries are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 12-5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call Price Tower at (918) 336-4949.
An opening reception for the exhibition will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9. The reception will be held in conjunction with the Family Arts Festival at the arts center, which will feature hands-on activities for children, food, music and local art. The theme of this year’s Family Arts Festival is “Crafts Done Wright.”
“We are pleased to provide a public venue for the RSU faculty to present their work. Their fine arts building is under construction, so they are without a gallery right now,” said Scott Perkins, Price Tower Arts Center curator. “The exhibition celebrates the creativity of northeast Oklahoma, and it’s a way for us to celebrate local artists.”
The exhibition will feature a three-dimensional installation involving sculpture and photography by Bryce Brimer, several photographs by Della Easton, two large-scale paintings by Moeller, organic sculptures made for pig intestines by Beth Powell and graphic art by Denny Schmickle. Their work will be on display on the second floor of the arts center.
