Centennial “dog tags” – collector’s items commemorating Rogers State University’s 100th anniversary – will be sold by the RSU Student Broadcasting Association during the men’s and women’s basketball games on Thursday, Feb. 12. The dog tags feature the official RSU Centennial logo.
“The dog tags can be worn around your neck, used as a key chain or lanyard or hung from your rear view mirror,” said Cathy Coomer, general manager of RSU Radio and adviser for the organization.
The tags commemorate the university’s history, from its founding as the Eastern University Preparatory School in 1909, through the days of the esteemed Oklahoma Military Academy, to the two-year Claremore Junior College and Rogers State College, to today’s fast-growing Rogers State University.
The tags will be sold for $3 each or two for $5 and proceeds will benefit the Student Broadcasting Association. In addition, RSU Radio will be giving away free identification holders to the first 100 people attending the women’s and men’s games on Thursday, Feb. 12.
The students will begin selling the tags at 5:30 p.m. each evening, prior to the beginning of the women’s basketball games, Coomer said.
The tags also will be sold at the next two remaining home basketball games on Feb. 21 and 26 at the Claremore Expo Center.
