Rogers State University has announced a significant increase in enrollment at each of its campuses, and for the first time, has surpassed 4,000 students during the spring semester.
A total of 4,045 students are enrolled this spring on the RSU campuses in Claremore, Bartlesville and Pryor, and its online program, resulting in an overall increase of 8.9 percent compared to last spring.
The number of credit hours in which students are enrolled has increased by 11.5 percent university-wide, indicating that students are taking more classes.
“We are pleased to record significant increases in all enrollment categories,” said RSU President Dr. Larry Rice.
During the current spring semester, an increase of 8.9 percent of students are enrolled in classes on the Claremore campus, an increase of 25.6 percent are enrolled in classes on the Pryor campus, an increase of 2.4 percent are enrolled on the Bartlesville campus, and an increase of 7.1 percent are taking classes through the university’s online program.
“Much of this growth is due to RSU’s expanding reputation for excellence in education across northeast Oklahoma,” Rice said. “In a challenging economy, the value of higher education and preparing our students for the future has never been more important.”
Enrollment for the upcoming summer and fall semesters will begin on Monday, March 29. However, new freshman can enroll early at Early Enrollment Day on Saturday, March 27, on the Claremore and Bartlesville campuses.
