Rogers State University Public Television (KRSC) was recently honored at the National Educational Telecommunications Association conference in Kansas City, Mo. The station was recognized for its content production of Will Rogers & American Politics.
This program was honored in two categories: biography and history. It captures the wit and simple wisdom of the rope-twirling Cherokee cowboy whose prose swayed world leaders and helped millions of Americans make sense – and light of – the day’s political follies.
RSU Public TV will rebroadcast the documentary on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 9:00 p.m.
“RSU Public TV was honored to finally receive a NETA award,” said Dan Schiedel, general manager of the station. “This was the first time in our 25 year history that we received not just one, but two NETA awards. We were very surprised and grateful for the recognition.
“The production team of Tim Yoder, Bryan Crain, Dale McKinney, Jessica Ammons, Geoff O’Gara (from Wyoming PBS) and the folks at the Will Rogers Museum are to be commended for all of their hard work and dedication to the story about this American Master.”
The NETA Awards are annual recognition of member-produced excellence in public broadcasting, a tradition established 44 years ago by the pioneering Southern Educational Communications Association from which NETA was formed.
NETA is a professional association founded in 1997 to serve public television licensees and affiliated educational organizations. The organization has members in 42 states, the District of Columbia, and the Virgin Islands. NETA is headquartered in Columbia, SC.
