Colter Sharon, a Rogers State University student from Collinsville, has received a scholarship from the Higher Education and Cultural Roundtable of Tulsa.
Sharon received the Student Patron of the Arts Award for his volunteer work with RSU Theatre and support for other arts programs at RSU.
He recently received the award at a ceremony at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa.
“This is a very prestigious award and we are very proud and appreciative of Colter’s hard work and dedication in support of the arts at RSU,” said Dr. Mike McKeon, associate professor of fine arts at RSU.
The Higher Education and Cultural Roundtable, or HECR, is a consortium of Tulsa-area colleges and universities formed to establish collaborations in arts programming.
Deans and professors at the institutions involved in HERC reviewed applications from students across northeast Oklahoma and selected Sharon for the award.
