Rogers State University will utilize a test-optional admissions process for the next five years allowing students to pursue a bachelor’s degree without providing an ACT or SAT score. The change follows guidance issued by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education that acknowledges the impacts of COVID-19 on student access to standardized testing, such as the ACT and SAT.
“This transition to test-optional admissions enhances access to higher education in the Tulsa area and throughout northeast Oklahoma. While important, test scores are not the only indicator of student success. We are glad to extend this opportunity to future students and excited to see them achieve their educational goals,” Lee Johnson, director of admissions, said.
Students are still encouraged to submit test scores, as they allow for accurate course placement. Test scores can also maximize scholarship opportunities, but RSU will consider students holistically.
Admission for the upcoming Fall 2021 semester is underway. Incoming freshmen can participle in Enrollment Days June 1, 2 and 4 from 8:15 a.m. to 12 p.m. During Enrollment Days admitted students meet with their advisor, build their classes schedule, talk with financial aid, get their student ID, meet their peers, receive a free T-shirt and learn about new student orientation.
Fall classes begin August 16. The admissions office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information or to apply online, visit www.rsu.edu/admissions or call 918-343-7546.
