Rogers State University named Travis Peck as the Director of Alumni Engagement. Peck will work closely with the Alumni Association board of directors and the development team to create meaningful engagement opportunities for alumni.
Peck will work under the direction of Steve Valencia, the vice president for development. Peck began his duties on March 1.
“Travis brings passion and enthusiasm to this position. As an RSU alum, he understands our traditions and recognizes the impact our graduates have on improving life in Green Country and beyond,” Valencia said. “His experience in communications and marketing will help us communicate more effectively with alumni and strengthen their affinity for the University.”
Peck holds a bachelor’s degree from RSU in communications with a minor in English. He has been the PA announcer for Hillcat basketball for the past three seasons. Previous to this position, Peck was the Video Services Coordinator for Level 3 Communications in Tulsa as well as the Director of Sales and Marketing for moreclaremore.com.
Some of his professional accolades include the Communications Outstanding Capstone Award and the Inaugural Claremore Progress 40 Under 40 Award. Peck serves on several boards: Trustee of the Claremore Public Schools Foundation, Board Member of the Claremore Museum of History and Claremore Main Street, Show Director for the Claremore Chamber of Commerce Gridiron as well as Chair of the Next Gen Leadership Crew for the Claremore Collective.
As a Claremore native and RSU alum, Peck understands the importance of history, tradition and giving. He hopes to see a constant flow of community on campus.
“I love my hometown. I love my alma mater. I love the idea of Claremore supporting a great school and RSU continuing to produce quality professionals that will lead our city,” Peck said. “I look forward to seeing more gatherings and celebrations of the university. I hope to help create a network of proud alums that appreciate their time at RSU and want to see it grow.”
Valencia is confident Peck will continue a partnership with the current and next generation of donors. Alumni can look forward to new and exciting opportunities to support and serve their RSU family.
“A strong, engaged alumni base will grow into the next generation of donors and leaders for RSU. Alumni can look forward to more opportunities to visit campus and reconnect through events and programs,” Valencia said. “We also plan to be active in establishing local alumni networks in various locations.”
Peck will host the inaugural Alumni Weekend on the Hill set for September 18-19. The weekend will incorporate small group reunions, the return of the Hillcat Hacker and a focus on celebrating RSU past and present.
“We want to show the true family feeling of RSU. Our alumni weekend is all about bringing people to campus to share their successes and celebrate their time as a student,” Peck said.
