Rogers State University will host its annual Scholarship Fundraising Breakfast supporting Bartlesville area students at 8:00 a.m., Friday, March 1, at the Bartlesville Community Center, 300 S.E. Adams Blvd.
The RSU Scholarship Fundraising Breakfast is free, but RSVPs are required. Contributions are encouraged with proceeds directly funding scholarships for Bartlesville area students.
Glen Johnson, Oklahoma’s chancellor for higher education, will serve as guest speaker for the event.
Twelve Bartlesville students currently receive $2,000 scholarships funded by breakfast proceeds. They are Katelyn Abrams, Ealisa Adams, Russell Arellanes, Jordan Brewer, Jessica Crabtree, Rosonna Ennis, Amanda Goodale, Magan Hughes, Kyle Lewis, Alexis Lorenz, Sadie Reed and Daniel Young.
Spencer Doupe and Katheryn Gunter will be recognized as recipients of the Dewey Spirit Scholarship, which also is supported by the breakfast.
Conoco Phillips and Phillips 66 are serving as the event’s presenting sponsors.
Major donor for the event is the Lowe Family Young Scholars, an innovative mentoring and scholarship program used to stimulate Bartlesville Public School students to obtain a college degree.
University level sponsors at this time are The Musselman Abstract Company and Bill and Vicki Beierschmitt.
Table sponsors are Arvest Bank, Blackburn & Tracy PLLC, Osage Casino, RCB Bank, Rep. Earl Sears and Sen. John Ford, 66 Federal Credit Union and Walmart Logistics.
Other key supporters include Charlie and Julie Daniels, Marshall and Tana McGraw and Rep. Steve Martin.
