Oklahoma Educational Television Authority will air a feature on the Rogers State University Innovation Center’s recent certification of the City of Claremore for the Entrepreneur Ready Program via the Economic Development Administration.
The segment will air statewide at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 15. It will be rebroadcast on Saturday at 6 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m., Monday at 1 p.m., Tuesday at 2 p.m., and Wednesday at 3 p.m. It will feature background information on the certification and insight on the process from RSU Innovation Center director, Jeri Koehler.
The City of Claremore and RSU announced on January 24 the city is the first in the state recognized as an Entrepreneur Ready Community, an economic development strategy designed to help the city become more entrepreneur friendly.
The RSU Innovation Center received a grant to become a University Center that served as a catalyst for entrepreneurial training, community development and economic assistance to rural communities.
The Entrepreneur Ready Community program primarily focuses on distressed rural communities with populations of less than 20,000. Participating communities will form a regional entrepreneurial corridor which links entrepreneurs with services and resources. The Economic Development Administration is a division of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
