Rogers State University’s Strategic Global Marketing course received the nationally recognized Quality Matters Certification for meeting course design standards in an official QM peer review. The course is part of the Master in Business Administration curriculum developed by Dr. Dana Moore Gray.
Quality Matters has developed a widely respected and nationally recognized faculty-centered peer review process that certifies the quality of online courses. The QM certification represents RSU’s ongoing commitment to creating learning environments that provide students with a clear pathway to success. The Strategic Global Marketing course is RSU’s third course to receive the QM designation and the first in the MBA curriculum.
“We are proud of this tremendous accomplishment and commend Dr. Gray on her diligence in designing the course,” said RSU President Dr. Larry Rice. “Our faculty is committed to developing innovative curriculum that meets industry demands and ensures the highest outcomes for student success.”
Gray is a professor and endowed chair in the Department of Business at RSU. She played a key role in transitioning the MBA degree into a completely online program last semester. The MBA@RSU can be completed in 18 months through eight-week courses that are fully delivered online at a price lower than most major universities.
“Dr. Gray is a leader in online instruction at RSU,” said Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Accountability and Academics, Dr. Mary Millikin. “Her course design will serve as the model for the entire MBA program.“
The course is now listed in the QM database of award-winning courses from colleges and universities around the nation. RSU is recognized by QM for SOC 1113 Introduction to Sociology by Professor Christi Mackey, SBS 3053 Social Systems and Problems by Dr. Frank Elwell, and MKTG 5143 Strategic Global Marketing by Dr. Dana Moore Gray. Quality Matters is coordinated by Dr. Earlene Washburn through the RSU Center for Teaching and Learning.
RSU celebrates 20 years as an accredited institution awarding bachelor degrees this year. Six years ago the university introduced its first graduate degree, the Master of Business Administration. Today the MBA@RSU is offered completely online designed to meet the needs of professional working adults. RSU operates its main residential campus in Claremore, with additional campuses in Bartlesville, and Pryor. RSU is consistently recognized as one of the region’s most affordable colleges, with more than half of last year’s graduates earning their degree without taking a student loan.
