Beginning Tuesday, May 27, the university will begin reconstruction of University Drive from the main entrance on Will Rogers Boulevard to just west of the Bushyhead Fieldhouse parking lot entrance.
In front of Preparatory Hall, the project will include a redesign of the flagpole drive from a dead end street to a one-way drive with additional parking.
The project is scheduled to be substantially completed in early August before the start of the fall semester.
The project will be constructed in two phases to provide as much access to the affected buildings and parking lots as possible.
The first phase will begin at the Bushyhead parking lot entrance drive and will end just east of the Pershing Hall parking lot’s west entrance. During this phase, access will be closed for the parking lots for Bushyhead, Baird Hall and the Innovation Center. Parking for these buildings will be available from either the Pershing Hall or in the lot east of Loshbaugh Hall.
The second phase of the project will begin in late June or early July at Will Rogers Boulevard campus entrance and will end at the Pershing Hall parking lot west entrance. During this phase, the flagpole road and Prep Hall parking lots will be closed to all traffic.
Road closed and detour signs will be set up at the Will Rogers Boulevard main entrance to provide direction to anyone coming to campus during both phases of this project. University Drive will have road closure barricades up at each end of each phase of construction as well.
The campus entrances at Blue Starr Drive and Camden Drive will be open during this 12-week construction project, which should be completed by the time fall classes start.
