The 107th Rogers State University’s commencement ceremony has been scheduled for Saturday, May 11, at the Claremore Expo Center.
The associate degree and certicate ceremony will be held at 10 a.m., while the master’s and bachelor’s degree ceremony will begin at 1 p.m.
The master’s and bachelor’s degree ceremony uses a ticketing system for guests with RSU allotting five tickets for each qualified master’s and bachelor’s degree candidate. The ticketing system for the master’s and bachelor’s degree ceremony provides fair and equal access to the event, which has experienced capacity crowds in recent years.
Tickets are not required for the associate degree and certificate commencement ceremony or the nurses’ pinning ceremony, which are held separately.
The ticket distribution for the master’s and bachelor’s degree ceremony will begin at the Commencement Countdown event, which will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, March 28 in the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center Rotunda on the Claremore campus.
Commencement Countdown is a come-and-go event designed to provide associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degree candidates the opportunity to purchase commencement supplies, including cap and gown, invitations and more. Graduate candidates may also get their photos professionally taken with cap and gown.
Various campus departments and vendors will be on hand to share relevant information with graduates.
For students unable to attend Commencement Countdown, the master’s and bachelor’s degree ceremony ticket distribution will start after the event with tickets available at Meyer Hall on Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Each graduate may receive up to five commencement tickets. Students will need their RSU student ID to claim their ticket allotment.
For students for whom it is not convenient to come to the Claremore campus, please call 918-343-7777.
The tickets, which are free, provide admission to the Claremore Expo Center for family and friends attending the master’s and bachelor’s degree ceremony. Participating graduates will not require a ticket. Children two years old and under who will sit on their parent’s lap also do not require tickets.
Students will have until April 12 to claim their allotment before unclaimed tickets are redistributed among students needing additional seats. Students who would like additional tickets beyond the initial five-ticket allocation can submit an online request from March 28 through April 12. The form will be available on the RSU Commencement web page at www.rsu.edu/commencement starting March 28.
Remaining tickets will be distributed beginning April 22.
The university will provide a live online stream of both commencement ceremonies for those unable to attend in person.
Details regarding the commencement tickets, graduation questions and periodic updates will be available at www.rsu.edu/commencement.
