Rogers State University has introduced the first bachelor’s degrees available on its Bartlesville campus. This fall, students can begin working toward four-year degrees in accounting and business management at RSU in Bartlesville.
“RSU has experienced a high demand from our students and from business leaders in the Bartlesville area to offer these new degrees at the Bartlesville campus,” said RSU President Dr. Joe Wiley. “Considering the profile of Bartlesville as a business-oriented community and the traditional academic strengths of RSU in the study of business, introducing degrees in accounting and management was a natural fit.”
Presently, students can earn several bachelor’s and associate’s degrees through a combination of online and on-site classes at the RSU campus in Bartlesville. In addition, the first two years of general education classes satisfying the basic requirements of all RSU four-year and two-year degrees are available on-site at the Bartlesville campus.
This fall, RSU will add a variety of junior and senior-level major classes toward its bachelor’s degrees in business administration with options in accounting and management on the RSU campus in Bartlesville. Freshmen who begin working toward one of the degrees will be able to complete all requirements for those degrees at the RSU campus in Bartlesville within four years, provided they are successful at completing a prescribed course of study.
The bachelor’s degrees are designed to provide graduates with the knowledge to apply the functions of business in the increasingly competitive global economy, Wiley said.
The new degrees require a total of 120 credit hours, including 41 hours in general education courses, 15 hours of basic business courses, 24 hours in upper-division (junior and senior-level) core business courses, 21 hours to earn either the accounting or management options and 19 hours of elective or minor courses (several minor areas of study are available.)
In the next few years, RSU plans to offer bachelor’s degrees in social science with options in history and political science and psychology and sociology as well as bachelor’s and associate’s degrees in nursing at the Bartlesville campus. More degrees will be added as demand increases and funding becomes available, Wiley said.
Enrollment for the fall semester currently is underway. Fall classes begin on August 17. A variety of financial aid and scholarship opportunities is still available for the fall semester.
