The Rogers State University Jazz Ensemble will present its annual spring concert on Thursday, May 3, featuring contemporary jazz, funk, pop, and blues music.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Will Rogers Auditorium on the RSU campus in Claremore.
“The ensemble will perform a variety of selections, from Jonathan Batiste, The Jackson 5, Thad Jones, Pat Metheny and James Peterik,” said Walter Kelly, RSU Director of Bands and Assistant Professor of Fine Art. “The RSU Jazz Ensemble has something for every contemporary, jazz, pop, and rock aficionado.”
The RSU music program provides an opportunity for students to hone their instrumental and performance skills in a university environment. Members of the community also are invited to participate.
RSU’s Department of Fine Arts offers a minor in music with opportunities to participate in four musical ensembles.
