A new partnership between Rogers State University and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College will allow students to complete an associate’s degree at NEO and seamlessly transfer to RSU to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
An articulation agreement between NEO and RSU was signed at a ceremony on Wednesday, February 22, on the NEO campus in Miami.
“Through this new partnership, students will be able to complete all requirements for associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in four years,” said RSU President Dr. Joe Wiley. “The proximity of the two institutions and compatibility of degree programs in effect brings a baccalaureate education to the northeast corner of Oklahoma.”
Beginning this fall, students enrolled in designated associate’s degree programs at RSU will be able to begin taking classes toward a bachelor’s degree at RSU in applied technology, biology – environmental conservation, biology – medical/molecular, business administration – accounting, business administration – management, justice administration, liberal arts, social science – history and political science, communications – radio and television, and social science – psychology and sociology. Faculty at the two institutions will work closely to provide students with a seamless education.
“We are excited to provide the opportunity for our students to continue their education and receive a baccalaureate degree following their graduation from NEO,” said NEO President Dr. Glenn Mayle. “It is our goal to increase the number of bachelor’s degree recipients in the state and thus enhance economic development.”
NEO is a comprehensive two-year community college serving students across northeast Oklahoma. The college offers general education classes to students who wish to transfer to a four-year university.
Rogers State University is Oklahoma’s fastest-growing university, serving more than 3,800 students on campuses in Claremore, Bartlesville and Pryor. RSU is recognized for its academic programs, individual student focus, distance learning options and high-technology learning environment.
