Faculty members who teach art at Rogers State University will showcase their work at the annual RSU Faculty Art Exhibition Aug. 25 through Sept. 8
At the beginning of each fall semester, full-time and adjunct faculty members who teach courses in art display their work in the Foundations Gallery in Baird Hall on the RSU campus in Claremore.
“The faculty art exhibition has become an annual rite of passage in the fall,” said Gary Moeller, longtime professor of art at RSU.
This fall’s Faculty Art Exhibition runs from Thursday, Aug. 26, through Friday, Sept. 10, in the gallery. An opening reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26. The public is invited to attend.
The exhibition will feature a variety of media, including sculpture, photography, computer graphics, drawing, painting and mixed media work.
This year’s participants include Bryce Brimmer, award-winning sculptor; Don Emrick, who teaches black and white photography at RSU; Mary Jane Porter, whose multi-media works can be seen in galleries and corporate offices across the state; Kren Bennett, a painter who teaches art history; and Gary Moeller, RSU’s senior art faculty member who specializes in drawing and painting.
Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call (918) 343-7740.
