A Nov. 1 event at Rogers State University will promote the importance of voting, as well as provide information on upcoming ballot issues.
Entitled “RSU American P.I.E. (Pride In Electing) Mobilizes The Vote,” the event will feature educational materials regarding issues on the Nov. 2 general election ballot, the screening of two political comedies (“Welcome To Mooseport” and “Head of State”), popcorn and lemonade.
Free pie will be given to the first 150 students who sign an “I Promise” pledge card stating their intent to vote in the general election.
Sponsored by the RSU Office of Student Affairs, the event will be held in the Student Union.
In September, about 250 students attended a student group-sponsored, voter registration event on campus. More than 70 new voters signed up during the event, which promoted student awareness and participation in the electoral process.
