How to Apply for an Academic Scholarship
Your RSU admission application serves as an application for an Academic Tuition Scholarship. Academic scholarships are awarded based on an applicant’s GPA, test scores, and date of admission. Priority consideration will be given to students admitted by March 1. Eligible applicants admitted after March 1 will be placed on a waiting list and awarded as funds become available.
Use the following formulas to calculate your scholarship amount:
ACT: (High School GPA x 12.5) + (ACT x 1.38889) = SCORE
SAT: (High School GPA x 12.5) + (SAT x 0.03125) = SCORE
*With no scores: (High School GPA x 21) = SCORE
- If your score is 88+, you earned a Tier 1 scholarship of $2,500/year for four years.
- If your score is 82-87, you earned a Tier 2 scholarship of $2,000/year for four years.
- If your score is 76-81, you earned a Tier 3 scholarship of $1,800/year for four years.
- If your score is 70-75, you earned a Tier 4 scholarship of $1,500/year for four years.
-
If your score is 63-69, you will earn a Tier 5 scholarship of $1,000/year for four years.
*Note: Students having neither an ACT nor an SAT score cannot qualify for Tier 1 scholarships.
