Rogers State University has announced significant enrollment growth for the fall semester, including increases of 16.8 percent in first-time freshmen, 9.6 percent in student credit hours and 8.4 percent in overall headcount.
This fall, 3,578 students are enrolled in classes at RSU, compared to 3,302 students last fall.
“The large increase in first-time freshmen indicates that more recent high school graduates from the Claremore, Tulsa and northeast Oklahoma area are selecting RSU for a traditional, four-year collegiate experience,” said RSU President Dr. Joe Wiley. “It also indicates that RSU is fulfilling the need for more higher education opportunities in northeast Oklahoma.”
In addition, the increase in student credit hours signals that more students are enrolled at RSU on a full-time basis, Wiley added.
Since RSU was accredited as a four-year university in 2000, the school has become Oklahoma’s fastest-growing university, recording 10 consecutive semesters of enrollment increases.
The university’s new student apartment complex on the Claremore campus has reached full occupancy. In addition, a new 45,000-square-foot library will open on the Claremore campus in January.
