An area skydiving team will perform a four-man exhibition above Rogers State University to commemorate Flag Day on June 14.
The Skiatook-based Skydive Airtight exhibition jump team will perform at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 14 in the skies above the main flagpole in front of Preparatory Hall on RSU’s Claremore campus. The celebration will also feature the posting of the colors by the 138th Fighter Wing Honor Guard, Oklahoma Air National Guard and a Cadet Memorial Service for the Oklahoma Military Academy (OMA) Alumni Association.
The event is free and open to the public. The performance is sponsored by the OMA Alumni Association.
The Flag Day event is being held in conjunction with the OMA Alumni reunion, which is held annually on the RSU campus. OMA offered secondary education and two years of college to young men on its Claremore campus from 1919 until 1971 when it was reorganized as a junior college, which later became Rogers State University.
