The Oklahoma State Data Center and the Center for Economic and Community Development will host a free Census workshop at Rogers State University in Claremore on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
Area businesses, industries and individuals are invited to attend the workshop to learn more about the 2000 Census data and resources that are available through the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and RSU’s Center of Economic and Community Development.
Topics to be discussed include recently released Census products, upcoming data products, census geography, community analysis, hands-on computer sessions, other data sources and other topics involving the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.
The workshop is free, however seating is limited to 50 participants. The registration deadline is Feb. 12.
The Claremore workshop is one of four the state commerce department has scheduled statewide to discuss census data information available to area businesses.
As an affiliate agency with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce’s State Data Center Program, RSU’s Center for Economic and Community Development provides economic and demographic data to area businesses, industries and individuals, said Ray Brown, RSU vice president for economic and community development. Available resources at the Center include computer facilities with high-speed Internet access, on-site professional staff and a library of electronic and printed materials.
