The ceramic art of Karen Wilson, a Rogers State University student from Pryor, will be exhibited from February 11 through March 8 at RSU’s Foundations Gallery. The title of the exhibition is “Creations in Clay.”
Foundations Gallery is located in Baird Hall on RSU’s campus in Claremore. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission is free.
An opening reception will be held for the exhibition from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, at the gallery.
Wilson is currently studying art at RSU in Claremore. She also teaches culinary arts at Northeast Technology Center. She has a master’s degree in vocational and adult education from the University of Central Oklahoma.
She has studied privately with many renowned Native American potters and sculptors. Her smoke-fired and raku ceramic pieces are popular across Oklahoma.
Her ceramic pieces were recently selected in a juried competition for publication in the 2002-2003 edition of New Art International.
Wilson lives near Pryor with her husband Richard Wilson, who is a veterinarian. They have two grown children.
