J. Keith Hale has been named assistant professor of English at Rogers State University.
Hale’s appointment was approved recently by the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents.
Hale will join the faculty of RSU’s Department of Communication and Fine Arts, located in the School of Liberal Arts.
Previously, Hale served as associate professor of English at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Mo. He also has served on the faculty of the University of Guam.
Hale is the author of the book “Friends and Apostles: The Correspondence of Rupert Brooke and James Strachey, 1905-1914,” published by Yale University Press in 1998.
In addition, Hale has served as a copy editor at the Arkansas Gazette, as associate editor at Arkansas Business Magazine, as an editor at the English Language Book Publishers in Baarn, The Netherlands, and as a writer in the publicity department of the Performing Arts Center at the University of Texas at Austin.
He also has served as an English teacher at the Clarendon (Ark.) High School and at the Arkansas School for Math and Science.
Hale received a doctoral degree from Purdue University, a master’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
