Rogers State University’s Student Art Show and Sale will open Thursday, Oct. 6, in the Foundations Gallery on the Claremore campus.
The show, which includes works from a variety of media, kicks off with a reception on opening night at 5 p.m. in the gallery. The show and sale concludes Oct. 28.
The art show includes works from current RSU fine arts students. Organizers say the fall art show is popular because attendees often purchase student art for holiday gifts. Students set the prices for their pieces, with prices starting around $10.
A 20-percent commission from each sale benefits the RSU Summer Art Program in Italy. The remainder of each sale goes directly to the student artists.
Students participating in the art show include: Megan Godwin, a visual arts freshman from Claremore; Aileen Moody Powers, a visual arts junior from Tulsa; Creed Littlefield, a communications junior from Afton; Andi Gourd, a political science senior from Sallisaw; Tanner Norwood, a visual arts senior from Miami; Maggie Parker, a visual arts senior from Pryor; Mai Pa Chee Vang, a visual arts senior from Collinsville; Paige Winnett, a visual arts junior from Tulsa; Sean Tyler, a visual arts sophomore from Tulsa; Nora Auld, a visual arts sophomore from Claremore; Kazoua Her, a visual arts senior from Collinsville; Alexa Gift, a visual arts senior from Broken Arrow; Nikkie Hale (née Baylee Brown), a general studies student from Quapaw; Jeff Brame, a visual arts junior from Tulsa; Dylan Bowles, a visual arts senior from Owasso; Shady Keeler, a visual arts senior from Delaware; Hannah Cook, a visual arts senior from Claremore; Audrey Thompson, a visual arts junior from Talala; Talon Kingfisher, a visual arts junior from Salina; and Marithza Gallo, a visual arts senior from Collinsville.
