Rogers State University was recognized as a Claremore Partner in Education during the annual Claremore Public Schools back-to-school meeting on Aug. 15.
Claremore Public Schools Superintendent Mike McClaren expressed a special appreciation to the full house of corporate sponsors supporting each school in the district. The Claremore Partners in Education include AXH Air-coolers, BancFirst, Baker Hughes, Hillcrest, Melton Sales, Pelco Structural, RCB Bank, and RSU, which was represented by RSU President Dr. Larry Rice.
“The support our industry partners and local businesses have extended to the Claremore Public School district is astounding. We are proud to have each school in the district supported by our business community,” said Jeri Koehler, Executive Director of the Claremore Industrial and Economic Development Authority.
Claremore’s Partners in Education program is a joint effort between the Claremore Industrial and Economic Development Authority and Claremore Public Schools. The program connects students and teachers with corporate and civic leaders. These partnerships help educators improve the academic and personal growth of all students.
The mission of the partnership is to unite businesses and the community with schools for the common goal of increasing the quality of education for all students in Claremore Public School while involving the community in the development of its own economic future.
RSU serves as the Partner school for Claremont Elementary, while also having students service hundreds of hours of volunteer service with each local elementary school.
