The Camden Street entrance to Rogers State University’s Claremore campus will be closed from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, for National Night Out, which will take place at the adjacent Will Rogers Park.
Claremore Police Chief Stan Brown said Camden will be closed between Brady Street/Highway 20 and Military Drive in order to create a safety zone around the event, including the park’s splash pad.
RSU entrances at Will Rogers Boulevard and Blue Starr Drive will remain open during the event.
National Night Out is an annual event that promotes positive relationships between community police and the neighborhoods they serve. The Claremore event, which will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., will feature live music, food vendors, bounce houses and other family activities. The event is sponsored by the Claremore Police Department.
Throughout the evening, police will be controlling traffic for pedestrians at the Brady Street/Highway 20/Camden Road intersection to allow pedestrian access between the event and the public parking areas in the Claremore Expo Center lot just south of the park.
