Dr. Richard Beck, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Rogers State University, was recently appointed to the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) Board of Directors by Governor Mary Fallin.
Beck succeeds Lisa Harbison and fills an appointment slot that is required to be from the 2nd Congressional District. He is serving a seven-year term that began on July 1.
“Richard Beck is an experienced administrator who has worked extensively with public television. He will be an excellent addition to the board and will help OETA provide diverse and high-quality television programs to viewers across Oklahoma,” said Fallin.
Beck has been vice president for academic affairs at RSU since 2008, and he has served on the Community Advisory Board for RSU Public Television since that time.
“I am looking forward to serving on the board for OETA and continuing to promote quality educational television for the state of Oklahoma,” he said.
Before coming to RSU, Beck served seven years as associate vice president for academic and student affairs at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, and 12 years as a music professor and director of The Teaching and Learning Center at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Beck earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point, his master’s degree from the University of North Texas and his doctorate from the University of Iowa. He and his wife, Tiffany, reside in Claremore.
