Following a national search, Rogers State University has selected Heidi Hoskinson as its new Vice President of Enrollment Management and Registrar starting on July 6.
At RSU, Hoskinson will be responsible for all university functions in student recruitment, admissions, financial aid and the registrar’s office. Her hire was approved Wednesday by the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents, which serves as the governing body for RSU.
Hoskinson brings to RSU more than two decades of experience in public and private higher education, including more than 10 years at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas, where she most recently served as Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs. Before being named to the interim vice president’s position, she served more than nine years as Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Registrar and Enrollment Services and was responsible for the administration of academic affairs functions, including enrollment management, registrar and records, policy development and institutional research. She served as a member of the university’s senior leadership team, deans council and institutional strategic planning committee.
Hoskinson’s diverse professional experience has provided her with a broad foundational knowledge of university operations, including strategic enrollment management for undergraduate and graduate programs, academic support services and a broad array of student-focused services.
“Heidi Hoskinson’s strong background will allow the university’s enrollment management office to meet current students’ needs in enrollment and financial aid while maintaining the personal touch that differentiates our university,” said RSU President Dr. Larry Rice. “Her experience also will sharpen our focus on reaching prospective students and clearly demonstrate to them the value of starting and completing a college education at RSU.”
She will play a leadership role in one of RSU’s most recent initiatives, a two-year implementation of a new campus-wide software system that manages student records, business operations and many other functions. She has been actively involved in three similar implementations at other institutions.
Hoskinson said she is looking forward to joining the RSU family and making a difference in the communities served by the university.
“I have seen first-hand the transformational power higher education can have on individuals and communities, and RSU consistently delivers on its promise to change lives through education in northeastern Oklahoma and beyond,” she said. “I am honored to join Dr. Rice and the RSU team so that we can continue to ensure that all deserving students have an opportunity to pursue their goal and achieve their dream of earning a college degree.”
Before joining Friends University, Hoskinson served as Vice President of Administration at the Adler University in Chicago, Director of Student Life and Development at Honolulu Community College in Hawaii, and Director of Admissions and Student Services at Argosy University in Honolulu. She also has served as Director of Student Activities and Residence Hall Director at Chaminade University in Honolulu and taught as adjunct faculty at DeVry University in Oklahoma City.
Hoskinson holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, and a master’s in educational leadership from Central Connecticut State University. She is completing her doctorate in adult and higher education from the University of Oklahoma.
