RSU Students Attend Higher Ed Day at State Capitol April 15

A group of exceptional Rogers State University students represented the university at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, April 15 at Higher Education Day and Oklahoma’s Promise Day.

Students and employees from state universities gathered at the Capitol for Higher Ed Day and Oklahoma’s Promise Day April 15.

While at the Capitol, students met with Senator Ally Seifried, Representative Mark Lepak, and several others, with RSU student Cate Campbell being one of only three students in Oklahoma to speak to lawmakers from the well of the House chamber.

Higher Education Day in Oklahoma is an annual event where students, faculty, and staff from Oklahoma’s public colleges and universities gather at the State Capitol to advocate for the importance of higher education and to express gratitude to legislators for their support. The event is sponsored by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. 

Oklahoma’s Promise Day is an annual event in Oklahoma that celebrates the Oklahoma’s Promise scholarship program and its impact on higher education access for eligible students. It’s a day to recognize the program’s role in helping Oklahoma families afford college and to thank supporters for their commitment to higher education.
