2025 RSU Distinguished Alumni Award Winners Announced, Sponsorships Sought for Distinguished Alumni Awards April 26

RSU’s Alumni Association has named the recipients of this year’s RSU Distinguished Alumni Awards. The winners will be honored at the Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner April 26. Tickets and sponsorships are now available.

2025 awardees include Trent Siever, recipient of the Rising Star Award; Sara Wallace, recipient of the Distinguished Hillcat Award; and Steven Burrus, recipient of the Hill Legacy Award.

Rising Star Award winner Trent Siever graduated with honors from RSU in 2022. He is currently in law school at the University of Tulsa, where he has won several awards and has been selected for state and national placements in the legal world.

Sara Wallace, Distinguished Hillcat Award winner

Distinguished Hillcat Award winner Sara Wallace graduated from Rogers State University in 2014. Wallace is an active citizen of Claremore, working to make positive changes through her Ethos yoga studio, located in downtown Claremore. Wallace’s husband, Justin, is also an RSU supporter. The pair has played in the Hillcat Hacker Golf Tournament fundraiser every year, and they support multiple RSU initiatives, serving on the Alumni Association board and serving as goodwill ambassadors for the university.

Hill Legacy Award winner Steven Burris graduated from RSU (then Rogers State College) in 1988. Burrus currently serves as the president of BancFirst in Claremore and is eager to tell his stories about Rogers State College to anyone. He credits his time on the Hill as putting his life on a successful track and is a huge supporter of the university.

Award recipients were selected based upon their personal achievements and service; statewide, regional, and/or national distinction; and bringing honor to themselves and to Rogers State University.

Event sponsorships are still available on a variety of tiers, including Presenting Sponsor (donation of $2,500), Alumni Award Sponsor (donation of $1,500), Grand Alumni Sponsor (donation of $1,000), Table Sponsor (donation of $500), and individual entries for $50.

Monies raised from this event will benefit the RSU Alumni Association and the RSU Alumni Association Scholarship.

RSU’s annual Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner will take place Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 6 p.m. The event will be held in the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center Ballroom.
