RSU to Host Third Annual Mental Wealth Day October 25

Rogers State University's Community Counseling and Psychology Student Association will host its third annual Mental Wealth Day Thursday, October 25, 2012. The event, which is free and open to the public, will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Centennial Center on RSU's Claremore campus.

Mental Wealth Day promotes mental health and wellness in the community. Participants learn about resources, careers and educational opportunities in the fields of mental health, criminal justice and social science. Participants also will have the opportunity to participate in personal and professional development seminars.

In recognition of National Depression Screening Day, RSU Counseling Services along with volunteers from Grand Lake Mental Health Center will provide mental health screenings for RSU students.

RSU Career Services will host a social science career and graduate school fair in conjunction with the event, giving job seekers the opportunity to learn about available internships, jobs and volunteer positions in the field.

There also will be a silent auction from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. benefiting future programing and events sponsored by CCPSA. The event is sponsored by the CCPSA and Psi Chi, the international honor society in psychology.

Completing the day's activities, the Oklahoma Blood Institute will host its fall blood drive 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
