RSU Public Television to Hold Aug. 5 Television Production Seminar

Rogers State University Public Television will hold a free seminar on Aug. 5 for area residents wanting to become involved with the production of local television programming at the station.

The television production seminar will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 5, in the station's studio facilities located in the basement of Markham Hall on RSU's Claremore campus. The event is free and open to the public.

"The objective of the seminar is to increase interest in local production and enhance the experience of local volunteers with RSU Public Television," said Dan Schiedel, the station's general manager.

The seminar is intended to enhance RSU Public Television's production ability in producing high quality local broadcasts with the help and support of a well-trained volunteer team.

"No previous production experience is required," said Dale McKinney, the station's production manager. "Volunteers will receive hands-on training from RSU Public Television's professional staff and have the chance to work on our local productions, fundraising drives, and other events after they have gone through the training process."

The seminar is designed like a video production workshop or standard introductory course in television production.
