RSU Foundation Scholarship Auction‘Cruisin' with Large and Small Items
Have you come down with "car fever"? If so, the Rogers State University Foundation Scholarship Auction is the place to be on Saturday, April 23, where a 2002 Chevrolet Venture Van, and a lot more, will be up for bid.
"This vehicle is in great condition, and only has 31,000 miles," said Tonni Harrald, RSU director of development. "We are so excited to have the opportunity to feature this van, along with many other outstanding items, in this year's auction."
The van, which would be suitable as a family car or business vehicle, was provided by Keystone Chevrolet of Sand Springs. The N.A.D.A. guide lists the van with a retail value of $11,300, trade value of $9,150, and a loan value of $8,300.
The van is just one of approximately 200 items that will be featured in the "Cruisin For Scholarships" auction and dinner, to be held at the Claremore Expo Center. Auction items will range in value from $5 to $12,000.
One of the featured items will be a bronze sculpture of Will Rogers, created by Robert L. Dean of Arcadia, Okla. The sculpture has been contributed by the artist and Judge and Mrs. Gary J. Dean of Pryor.
"We are extremely honored to have a piece by Mr. Dean in this year's event, and we are grateful to the Dean Family for their interest and continuing support of RSU and our scholarship program," said Dr. Danette Boyle, RSU vice president for development.
For those who enjoy quail hunting, the "live" auction will feature a November 2005 guided hunt for two with Mr. Frank Robson on his ranch in Craig County. The top bidders also will enjoy dinner with Mr. Robson at the ranch home after the hunt.
The public is invited to attend the event. Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple, including dinner. Table reservations are being accepted for parties of eight at no additional charge. For reservations, please call the RSU Foundation at 343-7768 or 343-7767 by April 15.
Only 100 tickets remain available on the 2005 Ford Mustang, which will be given away during the night of the event. Tickets are $100 each and may be purchased at the RSU Foundation. A total of 300 tickets will be sold. The Mustang give away is made possible by the RSU Foundation and Jack Kissee Ford of Claremore.
