RSU To Exhibit Watercolor Paintings of Nancy Harkins

The watercolor paintings of Nancy Harkins, depicting flowers, landscapes and life in rural America, will be exhibited Oct. 23 through Nov. 14 at Rogers State University.

The exhibition, titled "Daily Gifts: The Illustrations of Nancy Harkins," will be held at Foundations Gallery in Baird Hall on the RSU campus in Claremore. An opening reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at the gallery.

Harkins, who lives in Tulsa, is known for her watercolors, which have been shown in galleries and museums across Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Recently, the American Iris Society selected a watercolor by Harkins for its annual commemorative poster. Her paintings also have been featured in several published books. In addition, Harkins' work has been featured at the Gilcrease Museum, at the Mayfest Invitational Gallery and in five one-woman shows.

Her work is included in the corporate collections of ConocoPhillips and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and in private collections across the nation.
