12:00 pm Chow Time in the Mess Hall (Lunch)

Basic Training (Information Sessions) - 25min each

  • How to Pick a Major- Brandon Irby, Coordinator of Career Services
  • Money Management- Amy Hendrix, Financial Aid Counselor
  • How to be a Successful Hillcat- Joy Lin Husted, Director of Admissions
  • How to Talk to Your Professors-RSU Faculty Member
5:00 pm Campus Traditions - RSU Cheer, Hunter the Hillcat, Sara Williams (Asst. Athletic Director for Media Relations)
6-8:00 pm Shore Leave (Cookout & Pool Party)
8-9:00 pm Free Time
9-11:00 pm R&R Evening Event (DJ, Gaming, and Mocktails)
Day 2- July 14, 2013
8:30 am Chow Time in the Mess Hall (Breakfast)

Training Drills - 40min each

  • Mission: Check Your Six (Flag Tag)
  • Mission: Think on Your Feet (Impromptu Skits)
  • Mission: Spartan Shake & Bake (Obstacle Course)
  • Mission: Storm the Beach (Raft Races)
12:30 pm Chow Time in the Mess Hall & Join Your Branch (Lunch & Major Mixer)
1:15 pm

Basic Training (Information Sessions) - 25min each

  • Campus Life- Misty Smith, Director of Student Development, & Student Panel
  • Health & Exercise- Kevin Ervin, Personal Trainer
  • Rally Cry/Group Chant- Free Time to Develop Chant
