Hillcamp! The Best Way for New Students to Prepare for Rogers State University

August 12-15, 2015
First Stop:   Hillcamp Check-in – 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in Centennial Center
Second Stop:   Housing Check-in – 9 a.m.-Noon at Residential Life

Please Note: Hillcamp begins Wednesday, August 12. Please check-in for Hillcamp at the Centennial Center first, then proceed to Residential Life for move-in if applicable.

Registration

Cost is $60 per student and includes, meals, t-shirt, lodging, and activities. Select your preferred method of payment:

You must sign and return the proper liability release forms to participate in Hillcamp.

Hillcamp is a four-day orientation held before classes begin in August. Planned and produced by students for students, Hillcamp is designed to help new students prepare for their college experience and give them the tools to be successful during college. Held on the beautiful Rogers State University Claremore campus, Hillcamp is the best way to start building relationships and get plugged in to your new life as a Hillcat. While attending Hillcamp, students will meet fellow new Hillcats, current students, faculty and staff in a fun and learning environment.

Note: Students living off campus will need to determine their living arrangements prior to Hillcamp. Hillcamp will be providing everything else for students living off campus.

Wednesday, August 12

  • 9 a.m. – Hillcamp Check-in & VIP Book Store Event until 1:00pm (Centennial Center) Housing Move-in until 12:00pm (University Village Clubhouse)
  • 12 p.m. – Lunch on Your Own
  • 1:30 p.m. – Welcome to RSU for Students & Families (Will Rogers Auditorium)
  • 2 p.m. – Students: Campus Tour with Leaders (RSU Campus) | Families: Q&A Panel with RSU Personnel (Will Rogers Auditorium)
  • 3 p.m. – Goodbyes & Transition to Small Group Sessions
  • 3:30 p.m. – Small Groups (Assigned Locations)
  • 5:30 p.m. – Dinner (Chapman Dining Hall)
  • 7 p.m. – The Big Hillcamp Welcome! (Will Rogers Auditorium)
  • 8 p.m. – Skate Night! (Roller World - 950 W 4th St)
  • 11 p.m. – Good Night/Free Time

Thursday, August 13

  • 8 a.m. – Breakfast until 10:00am (Chapman Dining Hall)
  • 10 a.m. – Bursar Office/Financial Aid and Scholarships Session (Will Rogers Auditorium)
  • 11 a.m. – Library Staff/Tutoring Services Session (Will Rogers Auditorium)
  • 12 p.m. – Lunch (Chapman Dining Hall)
  • 1:30 p.m. – IT and ACS Session (Will Rogers Auditorium)
  • 2:30 p.m. – Student Organization Fair (Centennial Center Rec Room)
  • 3:30 p.m. – Small Group (Assigned Locations)
  • 5:30 p.m. – Dinner (Chapman Dining Hall)
  • 7 p.m. – Capture the Flag/Kickball

Saturday, August 15

  • 8 a.m. – Volunteer Projects (Breakfast and snacks provided)
  • 11 a.m. – Brunch (Chapman Dining Hall)
  • 12 p.m. – Lip Sync Battle (Will Rogers Auditorium)
  • 3 p.m. – Cardboard Boat Race (UVA Pool)
  • 5 p.m. – Dinner (Chapman Dining Hall)
  • 6 p.m. – Awards and Closing (Chapman Dining Hall)

What to Bring

The following items are suggestions of what you should bring to camp with you.

  • Tennis shoes (closed toed shoes are required for some activities)

  • Rain gear (weather dependent): Umbrella, Raincoat

  • Water bottle
  • Toiletries: Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Soap, Shampoo, Toilet Paper
  • Bedding supplies: Pillows, Linens (sheets) for a twin sized bed, Blanket for a twin sized bed, Towels for pool party and bathing
