B.S., Business Administration
I began my journey at Rogers State University at the Bartlesville campus. I graduated in 2007 from Bartlesville High School - Bartlesville is my hometown.
In May 2011, I started an internship with Lucas Metal Works in Ochelata from placement via the company's relationship with the RSU Innovation Center and my mentor, Jeri Koehler. I had a great hands-on experience. I wrote and starred in three television commercials for the company.
I was on Good Day Tulsa on KTUL and that was a lot of pressure. I knew people at RSU were watching, as well as everyone at Lucas. The company spent money for the spot so I was trying to represent them well. This internship has been a perfect opportunity to learn the things they don’t cover in the textbook.
In 2012, I graduated from Rogers State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Marketing focus. I am now the firm's marketing director.
I have spoken to two different groups of high school students at Caney Valley Public Schools about my experiences at Rogers State University and the great relationships I built through RSU.
I would have never had such a great experience if it had not been for RSU. At a lot of schools you are just a number, but at Rogers State they know who you are.
Real world experience has made me ready to go. I already had book knowledge but now I really know what it takes. You may know all the terms, but it is knowing how to implement them that is important.
