Writing for the Media

Junior Kayci Collins was offered an internship at the United Way in Tulsa and credits the Writing for the Media course. She knew the different styles of writing and was able to provide examples of each to her new employers.

Students have seen their work published in the Claremore Daily Progress. The top three winning features are: First place story featured in the April/May edition of the "Surreyā€¯ magazine (a supplement of the Daily Progress); second and third place stories published in the Sunday edition of the paper. Each story included a nice biography about the student writing the story.

Also known as COMM 3123, introduces students to the various styles of communication writing including print journalism, broadcast news, public relations, advertising, and web style formats.
